About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Academic Leader to join our team as a Learning Lead (Cognition & Learning) at Ad Warrior Ltd.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering intervention programmes for students with Cognition and Learning difficulties, identifying and tracking student progress, running interventions, and demonstrating their impact. They will also mentor students, act as a point of contact for parents, and review student profiles termly.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop pupil-specific curriculum, considering baseline data and student profiles.
  2. Conduct assessments to identify existing and potential barriers to learning and determine suitable intervention programmes.
  3. Pursue research to identify appropriate resources and materials to meet the needs of students.
  4. Plan and deliver programmes of intervention.
  5. Monitor and assess the impact of intervention programmes within the classroom and advise on methods and best practices for individual student needs.
  6. Negotiate timetable allocations for intervention programmes where necessary.
  7. Communicate regularly with class teachers and tutors to review content and impact of intervention in lessons.
  8. Provide academic mentoring support to selected learners.
  9. Communicate directly with families and/or boarding houses as required.
  10. Analyse data accurately, assess progress, and improve learning outcomes.
  11. Produce written reports termly, providing evidence of intervention impact to inform the SENDCO about student progress.
  12. Attend regular monitoring reviews to discuss progress with parents, tutor, Head of House, and the SENDCO.
  13. Maintain and update intervention records held in student files and inform student profile amendments.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. Experience working with students who have Cognition and Learning difficulties in a Primary or Secondary setting.
  2. Knowledge of SEND areas and willingness to maintain current knowledge to identify and advise on resource purchases.
  3. Ability to handle, track, and analyse data.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  5. Approachable and able to present a positive image of the school to learners, parents, and others.
  6. Capacity to work constructively as part of a team.
  7. Willingness to undergo training in other areas of need.
  8. Sensitivity, confidentiality, and commitment to providing optimal opportunities for learners.
  9. Strong organisational skills.
  10. Clear communication and tactful interaction using appropriate methods, aware of the impact on others.
  11. Able to maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders and work effectively as a flexible part of a team.
  12. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  13. Flexibility and resilience in managing daily responsibilities.
  14. Demonstrated strong planning and organisational skills.
  15. Willingsness to accept responsibility for actions.
  16. Effective prioritisation, meeting deadlines, and accepting challenges.

The desired qualifications and experience include:

  1. Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  2. Courses completed in Cognition and Learning and other SEND areas.
  3. Experience with SEND in a Secondary setting.
  4. Delivery of intervention programmes or willingness to undertake training.
  5. Experience with assessment tools or willingness to undergo training.
  6. Mentoring students with Cognition and Learning difficulties.
  7. Degree or equivalent experience.
  8. Minimum grade C/4 in English and Maths GCSE.

Salary and Location

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £27,711-£30,060 per annum, based on the location and job requirements. The exact figure may vary depending on factors such as qualifications, experience, and performance.
