About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Matchtech.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the Highways or Street Works industry and hold Street Works (NRSWA) Accreditation - Supervisor. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with excellent IT skills.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to maximize income for the Council by ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and coordinating public highway activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct systematic and ad hoc highway inspections and surveys to ensure the safety of our highways infrastructure.
  2. Issue notices and instructions to utility companies and contractors to minimize disruption to road users.
  3. Record and report on safety and defect inspections to inform decision-making.
  4. Holding site meetings to discuss findings and resolve issues.
  5. Assist in coordinating public highway activities to improve efficiency.
  6. Utilize IT systems to manage data and optimize processes.
  7. Support emergency response efforts as needed to maintain public safety.
Requirements
  • Street Works (NRSWA) Accreditation - Supervisor.
  • Practical experience in the Highways or Street Works industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Highways Act 1980 and New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
