Job Summary



We are seeking an exceptional Academic Support Officer to join our team at the University of Glasgow. As a key member of our Academic Consultancy Service (ACS), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support to our academics and external clients.



Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the operational management of the University's Academic Consultancy portfolio, providing proactive support to deliver strategic objectives.
  • Provide effective oversight and financial management of consultancy budgets, working closely with the ACS team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including academics, university services, and external clients.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the ACS portfolio management system and reporting tools.
  • Produce high-quality operational reports and analyse large data sets to inform management decisions.
  • Manage project administration, including consultancy project forms and supplier set-up.
  • Administer the ACS budget and continually monitor and improve consultancy processes.
  • Support business development initiatives and gather feedback to inform quality improvement.
  • Organise reputationally important events and workshops to promote academic engagement.
  • Maintain the ACS webpages and provide administrative support as required.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess:




  • A relevant qualification, such as a Higher National Diploma or equivalent, and experience in a similar role.
  • Detailed knowledge of financial processes, systems, and budgeting in a large organisation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven analytical skills and the ability to work independently, with a high degree of ownership and initiative.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
