About the Job

As Operations Director for Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK)'s Newcastle, UK sites, you will play a key role in driving business growth and operational excellence. You will oversee all customisation activities at our manufacturing sites, ensuring maximum efficiency, timely production, and quality excellence.

This role requires a results-driven individual with experience in leading senior teams, driving operational improvements, and implementing cost-effective solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of business management systems and financial management.

Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum

Main Responsibilities:
  • Operational Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement effective strategies to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Manufacturing Excellence: Oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of professionals to achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or similar field.
  • Experience: Senior manufacturing leadership role with a track record of improving operational efficiencies and increased production outputs for a UK manufacturing business.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Financial management and budgeting.
    • Understanding of business management systems.
  • Commitment to Innovation and Continuous Improvement.
  • Full UK Driving Licence Required.
