Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Service as a permanent member of our locality team.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering a safe, effective, and caring service to children and young people (0-18 years) in our area. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality specialist clinical assessments, including psychiatric and physical investigations, and developing individually tailored treatment plans in collaboration with other team members.

You will work as part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapists, and child psychotherapists. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience in CAMHS and contribute to the development of our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical assessments and develop treatment plans for children and young people with mental health needs
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to deliver a high-quality service
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including schools, social services, and other healthcare providers
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A medical degree (MB BS or equivalent) and GMC registration
  • Experience of working in CAMHS or a related field
  • Excellent clinical skills and a strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
