About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Control Specialist to join our team at We Are Footprint. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a key role in the financial management of construction projects across the Lancashire area.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry. They will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, monitoring project expenditures, and implementing cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency.

A strong understanding of cost control and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle are essential for this role. The successful candidate will also be responsible for conducting feasibility studies, collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors, and maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.

In addition to these responsibilities, the Cost Control Specialist will provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to management and stakeholders. They will also ensure compliance with legal requirements, building regulations, and health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate pricing and budgeting.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
  • Provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements, building regulations, and health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail, particularly in cost control.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professional membership (e.g., RICS).
