Job Overview

The Respiratory Support Unit and Respiratory Ward is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a skilled and dedicated professional to lead our team. As a Respiratory Support Unit and Respiratory Ward Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing the care needs of patients and developing and implementing programs of care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess patient care needs and develop programs of care
  • Supervise qualified junior staff and healthcare assistants
  • Teach qualified and unqualified staff, including preregistered and post-basic students

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • Good general education
  • Registered General Nurse

Experience

  • Previous work-related experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Strong post-registration experience

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients and multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Knowledge of the role of a Band 5
  • Knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
