Job Overview

The Respiratory Support Unit and Respiratory Ward is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a skilled and dedicated professional to lead our team. As a Respiratory Support Unit and Respiratory Ward Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing the care needs of our patients and developing and implementing programs of care to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction and outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess patient care needs and develop programs of care to meet those needs
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff and healthcare assistants
  • Teach and educate qualified and unqualified staff, including preregistered and post-basic students

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A good general education
  • Registration as a General Nurse
  • Previous work-related experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Strong post-registration experience
Skills and Knowledge

You will need to have:

  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients and multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Knowledge of the role of a Band 5
  • Knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
