Job Overview

The Respiratory Unit is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a skilled and dedicated team to provide high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions. As a Respiratory Support Unit and Respiratory Ward Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing the care needs of patients and developing and implementing individualized care plans. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive and compassionate care.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Assessing the care needs of patients and developing individualized care plans
  • Providing high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
  • Supervising qualified junior staff and HCAs
  • Teaching qualified and unqualified staff, including preregistered and post-basic students

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Good general education
  • Registered General Nurse
  • Previous work-related experience
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Strong post-registration experience
Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Ability to communicate clearly with patients and multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
  • Knowledge of the role of a Band 5
  • Knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
