Respiratory Support Unit and Respiratory Ward Specialist

The Respiratory Unit is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a skilled and dedicated team to provide high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions. As a Respiratory Support Unit and Respiratory Ward Specialist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that works closely with the Buckinghamshire Integrated Respiratory Service, Intensive Care Unit, Outreach teams, and A&E resus teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care and be able to work independently and as part of a team. You will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, developing and implementing care plans, and providing education to patients and their families. You will also be expected to supervise qualified junior staff and HCAs, and teach qualified and unqualified staff, including preregistered and post-basic students.

Education and Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Good general education
- Registered General Nurse
Experience
Desirable Criteria
- Previous work-related experience
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
- Strong post-registration experience
Skills and Knowledge
Essential Criteria
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients and multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to write clearly and legibly in English
- Knowledge of the role of a Band 5
- Knowledge of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act
Desirable Criteria
- Able to manage own case load with supervision
- Ability to work all shifts including night duty
- Computer skills
- Self-motivated
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice
- Good time management skills
