Job Description: SEN Classroom Assistant - Rubery, Birmingham

Long Term Futures Ltd is seeking a talented and enthusiastic SEN Classroom Assistant to join our team in Rubery, Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The ideal candidate will have a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Qualification Level 4 or equivalent experience as a SEN Level 3 Teaching Assistant, with relevant knowledge and experience working with pupils who have SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD.

About the Role:

This position involves delivering pre-planned class lessons for PPA cover, collaborating with the team to provide learning support, building positive relationships with pupils and teachers, and providing one-to-one support for SEN students with challenging behaviours.

  • Fully qualified HLTA or equivalent qualification
  • Relevant knowledge and experience working with pupils who have SEN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD, and ASD
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
  • Proven ability to manage behaviour management strategies
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality educational support to SEND students
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement effective learning plans
  • Maintain accurate records of support sessions and liaise between teachers and the Learning Support Team
  • Provide one-to-one support for SEN students with challenging behaviours
