About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Manager to join our Edinburgh Real Estate team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in guiding our clients and their professional teams on a number of exciting and iconic projects across Scotland.

You will have a real desire and commitment to understand how the builders of the past put together their buildings, and what that means to modern contractors. You will be working on a day-to-day basis with leading conservators, architects, and engineers to ensure that the client and contractor deliver the best value for money – advising all parties on the best solutions from a qualitative and commercial perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission Management
    • Assist on feasibility studies and write procurement reports
    • Estimate and cost plan, including producing and presenting the final cost plan
    • Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage
    • Deal effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change control processes
    • Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
    • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client
    • Input into value engineering
    • Negotiate and agree final accounts
    • Interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages
  • Qualifications
    • A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
    • Degree or HNC level qualification
    • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
