Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Manager to join our Edinburgh Real Estate team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in guiding our clients and their professional teams on a number of exciting and iconic projects across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist on feasibility studies and write procurement reports to ensure the best value for money for our clients.
  • Estimate and cost plan to produce and present the final cost plan, taking into account the complexities of the project.
  • Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
  • Deal effectively with post-contract cost variances and change control processes to minimize risks and maximize benefits.
  • Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking and valuation.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client, providing clear and concise insights into project costs.
  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and other stakeholders, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
  • Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure project success.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management and quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle.
  • Degree or HNC level qualification in a relevant field, such as construction, quantity surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
