About the Role


We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our team as a Residential Children's Worker at Fairview in Chesterfield.


This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people to thrive and develop.


As a member of our small and experienced team, you will be responsible for providing daily support, guidance, and education to our children.


You will need to have an openness to and aptitude for relationship-focused and psychologically informed working practices.


Additionally, you must have the appropriate skills and experience to perform and work within an environment that can, at times, require using your own initiative.


It is essential to have a thorough understanding of the Children Act, the Quality Care Standards, and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.


You will be required to hold, or be working towards, the Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma and Social Care Pathway (England) 2015, or an equivalent qualification.


This Residential Children's Worker role is shift-based, with early, late, and sleep-in shifts, to provide 24-hour care.


The role attracts additional payments, including plain and enhanced hours, basic hourly rate, unsocial hours enhancement, and total hourly rate.


Bank holidays will be paid at double time, and sleep-in duties will be paid a basic duty payment rate, with additional time worked as a result of being called to work when sleeping in paid at the appropriate rate for the day/time of day.

  • Monday to Sunday 7am-7pm: plain time
  • Monday to Sunday 7pm-7am: plain time plus one third
  • Bank Holidays all hours: double time
  • Sleep-in duty: basic duty payment rate, with additional time worked as a result of being called to work when sleeping in paid at the appropriate rate for the day/time of day
