Company Overview:

The client is a housing association dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable homes across Yorkshire.

We are seeking a motivated Income Officer to join our Income and Specialist Housing Team. As an Income Officer, you will play a key role in maximising income for the organisation while supporting customers to sustain their tenancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Income Collection: Support the team in managing arrears recovery and income collection to ensure financial sustainability for the organisation.
  2. Customer Support: Work closely with tenants to assess their financial situation, providing pre-tenancy assessments and supporting early interventions to prevent arrears.
  3. Welfare Benefits Knowledge: Advise tenants on available benefits and support them in accessing welfare benefits to maximise their income and sustain their tenancy.
  4. Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and other stakeholders to deliver effective solutions for tenants facing financial difficulties.
  5. Arrears Prevention: Implement preventative measures to avoid arrears escalation, including negotiating repayment plans and offering tailored support.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Demonstrable experience in a similar role, specifically in income and arrears collection and providing a customer-focused service.
  2. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, income recovery strategies, and best practices in housing management.
  3. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support tenants in financial hardship.
  4. Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  5. Customer-Centered: A genuine passion for providing high-quality service to tenants and helping them sustain their tenancies.

Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum.
