**Job Overview:**

The housing association is looking for an enthusiastic Income Officer to play an integral part in the collection of income and prevention of arrears escalation. The successful candidate will work closely with tenants to assess their financial situation, provide pre-tenancy assessments, and support early interventions to prevent arrears.

**Responsibilities:**

  1. Manage arrears recovery and income collection to ensure financial sustainability for the organisation.
  2. Assess tenant financial situations, provide pre-tenancy assessments, and support early interventions to prevent arrears.
  3. Advise tenants on available benefits and support them in accessing welfare benefits to maximise their income and sustain their tenancy.
  4. Build strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and other stakeholders to deliver effective solutions for tenants facing financial difficulties.
  5. Implement preventative measures to avoid arrears escalation, including negotiating repayment plans and offering tailored support.

**Requirements and Qualifications:**

  1. Demonstrable experience in a similar role, specifically in income and arrears collection and providing a customer-focused service.
  2. Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, income recovery strategies, and best practices in housing management.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support tenants in financial hardship.
  4. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  5. A genuine passion for providing high-quality service to tenants and helping them sustain their tenancies.

**Estimated Salary:** £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
