This exciting opportunity offers the chance to lead a psychiatric service for young people up to 18 years in a regional inpatient setting. As a centre of excellence, the service provides a unique opportunity for liaison with young people, families, and multi-agency colleagues, as well as developing links with colleagues across the West of Scotland and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a psychiatric service for young people up to 18 years in a regional inpatient setting
  • Provide medical leadership and Responsible Medical Officer responsibilities for patients within the regional adolescent inpatient service
  • Liaise with young people, families, and multi-agency colleagues to develop effective care pathways
  • Develop links with colleagues across the West of Scotland and beyond
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration and a licence to practice
  • Higher specialist training leading to CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR)
  • Experience of working in tier 3 or 4 child and adolescent psychiatry services
  • Registration as an Approved Medical Practitioner according to the terms of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act
