About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment, where you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective patient safety frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of openness and transparency.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement patient safety frameworks that are quality-centric and aligned with trust, hospital, division, and service requirements.
- Ensure the delivery of a rolling programme of governance activities, including incident investigations, audits, and risk management.
- Provide specialist advice on quality assurance and patient safety, and work with performance and contracting colleagues to establish action plans for positive change.
- Liaise with the Head of Quality Governance to agree and achieve deliverables, and support the implementation and evaluation of national policy and guidance.
- Lead the management of patient safety events and share learning from these events to promote a culture of openness and transparency.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Professional knowledge and additional specialist management knowledge acquired through training and experience.
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in clinical governance.
- PSIRF-approved training and risk management qualification.
- Good working knowledge of risk and incident management in relation to the NHS Patient Safety Strategy.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft packages.
- Ability to demonstrate and generate commitment to patient experience, public involvement, and equality and diversity.
