Technical Operations & Development
The University of Exeter is seeking a highly skilled Scientific Operations Specialist to support the development and deployment of complex scientific equipment. This full-time, fixed-term position is available immediately for a duration of 24 months, with the possibility of an extension of a further 24 months.
This role will involve working closely with the existing team to develop and deploy novel sensors integrated with uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs). The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and repairing assets, preparing documentation, and participating in fieldwork activities.
This position offers practical workshop and laboratory activities, as well as data work and office duties. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and leadership within the team, mentoring and guiding colleagues as needed.

As part of our Technical Strategy & Operations team, you will contribute to the success of our research projects and promote compliance and best practice in our labs, studios, workshops, and field environments.
