Contribute to Groundbreaking Climate Research

We're seeking a highly skilled Regional Climate Specialist to join our team and contribute to the evaluation of high-resolution climate change simulations for Africa. This is an exciting opportunity to develop software to compute diagnostics for key processes driving African climate and assess how well our models represent these processes.

You will work as part of the Climate Processes and Projections team, collaborating with scientists and scientific software engineers to advance our understanding of climate change. Your work will help establish confidence in the reliability of climate projections from these models and provide actionable climate information to decision-makers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in software development, data analysis, and scientific communication. You'll be working on projects that really matter and make a difference in the fight against climate change.

We offer a competitive salary of £25,606 per annum, plus a range of benefits including annual leave, access to discounted shopping, and opportunities for career development.

Our ideal candidate has a keen interest in current environmental issues, a scientific background, and good coding skills, preferably in Python. They should also have experience in writing and presenting scientific information.
