  • Leading a team of senior staff to deliver a fit-for-purpose medical laboratory service

  • Ensuring the day-to-day operation of the Blood Sciences department
  • Managing the maintenance and development of laboratory equipment and systems
  • Providing expert advice to the department on complex laboratory methodology

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant post-registration experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory
  • Extensive knowledge of laboratory methodology and equipment
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Education, Qualifications & Training

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science
  • Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council
  • Extensive post-registration experience at a senior level with substantial relevant experience at Band 8a management level
  • Management/Leadership Training or qualification
Special Circumstances

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Hold a full driving license and have access to a car
