You will manage a limited caseload of complex cases, act as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) working on our Borough wide rota, provide guidance in relation to the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005, and contribute to service development to ensure that social work values are fully represented and where appropriate chair meetings, particularly in relation to safeguarding enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide social work leadership in the community mental health team
  • Manage a limited caseload of complex cases
  • Act as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) on the Borough wide rota
  • Provide clinical supervision to social workers
  • Contribute to service development and ensure social work values are represented

About the Team

You will work closely with a Multi-Disciplinary Team, including Consultant Psychiatrists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and STR workers. The team provides mental health services to individuals with serious and enduring mental illness, who may also have substance misuse problems, Autism, Asperger's or mild to moderate Learning Disability.
