About the Role:

As a Prisoner Custody Officer at Serco, you will play a vital role in providing safe and secure escorting and custody services to detainees. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the physical and mental well-being of those in your care, while also maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany defendants in court rooms and cells, ensuring their safety and security at all times.
  • Search property or people as required, using your skills and expertise to manage and control all situations.
  • Ensure food and drink are available to detainees, and complete paperwork and data entry for the day.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a seamless and efficient service, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • A current valid driver's license is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Reasonable fitness levels are required, as you will be expected to manage and control situations that may arise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will be working with a diverse range of individuals and stakeholders.
