About Our Company and the Team

We are a software solutions provider for participants in the financial services derivatives market. Our platform leverages hybrid cloud and blockchain technology to support tokenization of assets, digital custody, issuance, and post-trade workflows. Our mission is to simplify trading processes through a secure, compliant, and scalable platform, enhancing efficiency and transparency while mitigating risks.

We are a fully funded UK start-up in our early development stage, combining in-house technical leadership with outsourced services. The team is collaborative, passionate, and driven, with a focus on innovation and success.

Job Description

This role bridges the gap between business goals and technology, ensuring that the product delivers maximum value to our customers. The Product Owner will gather, document, and communicate product requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver on the product roadmap.

Familiarity with blockchain technology is important, while experience in tech environments is highly favourable. You will be responsible for managing the product backlog, refining user stories, and supporting the engineering team through successful sprint execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Product Vision & Strategy:** Work with leadership to define and communicate a clear product vision that aligns with company goals.
  • **Product Backlog Management:** Own and manage the product backlog, prioritizing based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
  • **User Story Creation:** Translate high-level features into detailed user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • **Sprint Planning & Execution:** Collaborate with engineering teams during sprint planning and guide execution to ensure alignment with product goals.
  • **Stakeholder Management:** Act as the voice of the customer, integrating feedback and requirements into product development.
  • **Success Metrics:** Set KPIs and monitor product performance to inform data-driven decisions.
  • **Product Releases:** Plan product releases and collaborate with teams on go-to-market activities.
  • **Cross-functional Collaboration:** Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure product success.
  • **Risk Management:** Identify risks and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the product development process.
  • **Product Documentation:** Maintain up-to-date documentation on product requirements, specifications, and release notes.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner, particularly in product development.
  • MUST reside in Cambridge or surrounding areas.

  • Proven experience managing agile product backlogs, creating user stories, and facilitating sprint planning.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data insights to guide decisions.
  • Proficient with tools like Jira and Confluence for managing workflows and product documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of cross-functional collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive with a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
