Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Research and Development Laboratory Assistant to join our team based in Cambridge, UK. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting laboratory operations, maintaining laboratory consumable inventory, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
Responsibilities- Maintain laboratory consumable inventory, identifying alternative products to roll out in the event of supply issues and daily consumable replenishment, utilising site inventory system
- Biological & chemical waste management
- Receipt and unpacking of cell and biological samples deliveries, including temperature sensitive and materials with special handling/storage requirements
- Routine decontamination of incubators, water baths, class II cabinets and other equipment on site
- Management of pipette inventory and organisation of calibration schedules
- GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent) and an interest in science
- Fully trainable in pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment desirable but not essential
- Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions
- Computer Literate
- Process driven and high level of attention to details
- An attractive salary of £28,000 - £35,000 per annum
