Role Overview

The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire Northamptonshire is seeking a skilled Wet Farming Delivery Officer to join our team. As part of the National Lottery Heritage Funded Peatland Progress Project, you will play a crucial role in the practical management and monitoring of wet farming plots (paludiculture).

About the Project

The Peatland Progress project aims to restore farmed arable land to wetland, securing the missing link between two Fenland National Nature Reserves. You will be part of a small and dedicated team delivering this transformation, demonstrating new wet farming practices, and inspiring change across farmed peat soils nationally.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day practical management of wet farming plots
  • Assist with established monitoring programmes
  • Liaise with third parties working on sowing, cropping, and monitoring activities
  • Conduct site visits and outreach activities
  • Engage with the public through digital channels and social media
  • Participate in public speaking and media engagements
  • Operate the Mobile Inspiration Hub, a trailer-mounted 'Tiny House' built from paludicultural crops

About You

We are looking for a motivated and friendly individual with a can-do attitude. You will be an organised self-starter who can bring your existing skillset to the team and contribute to a complicated and exciting programme of activity. Practical experience and a willingness to learn are essential.

Working Arrangements
