NHS Medicine Training Leadership Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Deputy Head of School for Medicine, working closely with the Postgraduate Dean and Head of School to manage the Medicine Training programme.

This is a senior leadership role, responsible for ensuring that national standards and guidelines are met, and for providing effective clinical leadership to the Medical School's Medicine Training programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of School in managing the Medicine Training programme
  • Implement national and NHS E policies in relation to the education and training of junior doctors
  • Provide effective clinical leadership to the Medical School's Medicine Training programme
  • Work closely with Postgraduate Deans and Deputy Head of School to implement the NHS E Quality Framework
Requirements
  • Primary clinical healthcare qualification
  • Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association and/or regulatory body
  • Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development
  • Educational qualification such as PG Cert diploma or Master of Medical Education

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary, paid in line with sessional payments, estimated at £100,000 - £120,000 per annum, and will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team to shape the future of medicine training.
