Front Office Support Specialist

At emagine Consulting, we are seeking a highly skilled Front Office Support Specialist to join our Technology Practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our trading teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our electronic trading platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot electronic trading connections and workflows
  • Perform critical start-of-day and end-of-day checks and procedures
  • Collaborate with front and middle office colleagues to provide real-time technical support to traders and clients
  • Build relationships with key third-party suppliers and vendors
  • Proactively identify and diagnose technical issues, taking clear remedial action if necessary
  • Ensure all issues and changes are accurately logged and tracked to completion
  • Participate in team discussions to continually question and improve key processes, functions, and workflows
  • Review and update procedural documentation, including FIX and API specifications
  • Assist in the production of key management information
  • Coordinate and document connectivity conformance tests and functional certifications
  • Maintain technical contact information for key clients and third-party vendors

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of fixed income, commodities, or equities
  • Strong knowledge of internal and external control and regulatory requirements in E-trading
  • Experience in managing projects and relationships across front office and 2nd line control functions
  • Previous experience in an IT support/networking role within trading/financial services
  • Technical experience working with Linux/Unix
  • Experience using FIX protocol messaging, market-leading OMS/EMS vendors desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrable interest in pursuing a career within financial services/technology
  • Quick learner, with ability to question and challenge
  • Commitment to learn new skills and develop existing ones
  • Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills
