Tree Care Specialist for Windsor Estate

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tree Care Specialist to join our team at The Crown Estate in Windsor. As a key member of our arboriculture team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of tree care on the Windsor Estate.
About the Role:
- Undertake a wide range of arboricultural tasks, including pruning operations, tree felling, and planting.
- Comply with health and safety systems, including LOLER & PUWER compliance, Hazard & Risk Assessment, COSHH awareness, and Manual Handling risk assessment awareness.
- Operate machinery to deliver work programmes, react to unforeseen events, and support the team to deliver wider Estate objectives.
- Undertake special projects or other tasks as agreed with the Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience in modern arboriculture and conservation management of trees and woodlands.
- Demonstrate an understanding of conservation issues relating to veteran trees and associated habitats.
- Demonstrable skills in delivering high-quality work safely, using various machinery and tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Estate and its working land conditions.
- Previous experience of land or arboriculture-based operations.
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of land-based health and safety practices.
- A good communicator, confident, friendly, approachable, with the ability to engage with a wide variety of people.
- Team orientated, able to work on own initiative, adaptable, and highly organised with attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively problem solve and physically fit, able to work in all weathers.
Essential Skills:
- Level 2 Aware in Safe Use of Manually Fed Woodchipper
- Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of a Mobile Elevated Work Platform
- Level 3 Award in Emergency Treework Operations
- Level 2 Award in Tree Climbing and Rescue Operations
- Level 3 Award in Safe Use of a Chainsaw from a MEWP
- Level 3 Award Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw using free-fall techniques
- Level 3 Award in Aerial Tree Rigging
- Emergency First Aid + F
- Full, valid driving licence is essential.
