About the Role

We are seeking an Associate/Senior Associate to join our Portfolio Value Creation (PVC) team in the London office. The PVC team partners with global Investment Groups across a portfolio of c. 85 assets and works out of offices in Toronto, London, Hong Kong, San Francisco, New York, and São Paulo.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support respective investment group portfolio relationship leads on executing the asset review process for the relevant private investment portfolios (oil & gas, power and renewables, real estate, etc.)
  • Utilize your experience and exposure to our asset base to identify and execute on value creation initiatives
  • Support due diligence of new investment opportunities and the transition of new assets into CPP Investments' portfolio (Day 1 transition, 100-day planning, governance setup, etc.)
  • Have the willingness to execute on specific value creation initiatives

Requirements

  • Related work experience in either Big 4 with sector specialism (working for transaction services), or financial planning and analysis/corporate development experience in relevant industries. Experience in investment banking, consulting firms, private equity, and hedge funds in a portfolio role will also be considered
  • High level of numeracy is essential
  • ACA certificate would be preferred
  • Prior knowledge of the energy and/or renewable industry would be highly preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills and business judgement
  • Experience in working in complex stakeholder environments and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Team player who enjoys a high-performance culture
