We operate in four sectors: Climate, Agriculture, Pharmaceuticals, and Computation, tackling the challenges defining those areas by taking a first-principles approach and partnering with leading institutions.
Our Focus on ClimateWe are driving and accelerating the net-zero carbon transition by delivering innovations in carbon mitigation and carbon removal technologies. Our goal is to maximize impact in solving climate change.
We investigate carbon mitigation technologies, identifying routes to decarbonize heating, avoid material breakdown to CO2, and propose novel materials that can replace carbon-intensive matter. We also focus on maximizing CO2 drawdown capacity through biotic, abiotic, and artificial strategies, and proposing new ways to store or utilize CO2.
The Role of the AssociateAs an Associate, you will work in close partnership with the Director of Climate, the Head of Scoping, our current and future Founders, and other Associates. Your main focus will be on opportunity analysis, identifying new areas for venture development, and working across all core functions of venture development, including recruitment, business development, fundraising, and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities- Research and identify new opportunity areas for building ventures that tackle climate change and the net-zero carbon transition;
- Recruit a team of multidisciplinary founder-type scientists and work together on venture creation;
- Drive the venture creation process from idea generation to pre-seed and seed investments;
- Support fundraising and business development efforts for the sector.
- Deep technical understanding of disciplines related to potential applications in the climate space, such as chemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other similar disciplines;
- Demonstrated interest in climate tech, including negative emissions technologies, green chemicals, decarbonizing transport, power energy systems, solar radiation management, and critical minerals;
- Demonstrated interest in applied science and early-stage commercialization;
- Experience in product development is a plus;
- Demonstrable first principles and creative thinking;
- Demonstrated level of achievement, taking own initiative and delivering outcome-oriented projects from start to finish.
