">About the RoleGSL Education is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support learners with diverse needs at a school in Waterlooville. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone committed to helping students achieve their best in both academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualised support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism and social-emotional challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers and fellow SEN staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with behaviour management, maintaining a supportive classroom atmosphere.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
- Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, including physical disabilities, language disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or special education.
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN strategies and best practices.
To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education. Please note that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
