Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Aspens Services Ltd, a leading contract catering company specializing in school food. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food and service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, develop, coach, train, and motivate a team of culinary professionals to ensure high-quality food and service standards are consistently met.
  • Operational Management: Have full control of the catering operation, including stock, food, and labor costs, to ensure efficient and profitable management of resources.
  • Menu Development and Quality Control: Oversee menu development and ensure consistency of food and service standards delivered to our students and staff.
  • Financial Management: Drive sales through monthly promotions and added-value events, and manage and improve all controllable costs to achieve sales targets.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain company systems and procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Audit and Quality Assurance: Carry out regular audits to ensure standards are being met and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: OND or HND qualified (desirable but not essential).
  • Culinary Experience: Proven experience in a similar environment, with a strong background in culinary operations and management.
  • Leadership and Management: Line management experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial management, including gross profit management and sales targets.
  • Health and Safety: Knowledge of health and safety practices and procedures.

  • Competitive Salary: £14 per hour.
  • Flexible Working Hours: 27.5 hours per week, with no late nights, and 38 weeks per year based around term time.
