Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Aspens Services Ltd. As a key member of our culinary operations team, you will be responsible for leading our school catering facilities and delivering exceptional food and service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Lead, develop, coach, train, and motivate a team of culinary professionals to ensure the highest standards of food quality and service.
  • Culinary Operations: Have full control of the catering operation, including stock, food, and labor costs, to ensure efficient and profitable operations.
  • Menu Development: Oversee the development of menus that meet the needs and preferences of our students and staff, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Financial Management: Manage and improve all controllable costs, including labor, food, and supplies, to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure consistency of food and service standards delivered to our students and staff, and conduct regular audits to ensure standards are being met.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: OND or HND qualified in a culinary discipline (not a requirement, but advantageous).
  • Culinary Experience: Proven experience in a similar environment, with a strong background in culinary operations and team management.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Financial Management: Strong financial management skills, with experience in managing budgets and controlling costs.
  • Health and Safety: Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations, with experience in ensuring compliance in a culinary environment.

  • Competitive Salary: £14 per hour.
  • Flexible Working Hours: 27.5 hours per week, with no late nights, and 38 weeks per year based around term time.
