Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at RAF Leeming, Junior Ranks Mess. As a Chef, you will be responsible for cooking a variety of meals for our military customers, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cooking a range of meals for military customers, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.
  • Ensuring that all food is prepared in accordance with relevant food safety legislation and Aramark's quality standards.
  • Helping to reduce kitchen waste and implementing processes to minimize wastage.
  • Supporting with food orders and ensuring that all ingredients are stored and handled correctly.
  • Checking all food for allergens and ensuring that all menu items are compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Following recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve a range of meals.
  • Completing daily paperwork to cover due diligence and ensuring that all kitchen records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assisting with deliveries and stock checks, as well as placing orders for ingredients and supplies.
  • Sharing responsibility with the Chef manager/Catering manager for checking, probing, and signing off all food deliveries.
  • Monitoring and recording temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries.
  • Assisting in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.
Requirements
  • Food hygiene certificate level 2 or willingness to work towards it on our e-learning platform.
  • Relevant culinary qualification is desirable, but not essential. We offer opportunities for training and development.
  • Previous experience of working in a kitchen environment.
  • Good level of spoken English.
  • Security clearance and a DBS check are required.
