Ashberry Recruitment has partnered with Barnsley Children and Family Social Care Service to find a highly skilled Advanced Practitioner to join their Practice Development Hub. This critical role involves driving best social work practice, developing and delivering continuous professional development and training programs, and ensuring that staff have the necessary tools to excel in their roles.

You will be a key member of the Social Work Academy, responsible for supervising, supporting, and guiding Newly Qualified social workers in their Assessed and Supported Year in practice. Additionally, you will develop and deliver training aligned to the Barnsley Stronger Together practice model, supporting learning and driving best practice across Children's Social Care.

  • Collaborating closely with the Quality Assurance Team, you will ensure that learning from audits is embedded in our training and development, resulting in improved social work practices.
  • You will also work with the Practice Development Manager and Principal Social Worker to develop, drive, and deliver the practice model, continuous professional development, and training offer for children's social workers and practitioners.
  • Your contribution will be instrumental in shaping the future of social work in Barnsley, making this a truly rewarding career opportunity.

To succeed in this role, you will need a recognized Social Work qualification, registration with Social Work England, and significant post-qualification experience, including supervision and mentoring. An Enhanced DBS certificate and a flexible approach to work and working hours are also essential.
