A rare opportunity has arisen in Barnsley Children and Family Social Care Service to recruit an Advanced Practitioner to join their Practice Development Hub. This role is ideal for a forward-thinking, motivated, and dedicated professional who can support teams and social workers in delivering exceptional outcomes for children and young people.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the Hub and alongside the Practice Development Manager and Principal Social Worker to develop and drive the practice model, continuous professional development, and training offer for children's social workers and practitioners. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing supervision, support, and guidance to Newly Qualified social workers during their Assessed and Supported Year in practice
  • Developing and delivering training aligned to the Barnsley Stronger Together practice model to promote learning and best practice across Children's Social Care
  • Working collaboratively with the Quality Assurance Team to ensure that learning from audit is embedded in training and development
  • Ensuring that staff and teams have access to the resources and tools necessary for their professional development

This role requires a recognised Social Work qualification, registration with Social Work England, and significant post-qualification experience, including supervision and mentoring. Additionally, the successful candidate must hold an enhanced and up-to-date DBS certificate.

The salary for this position is £*** (approximately ***,***) per annum, depending on location and experience. A flexible approach to work and working hours is required when needed. Furthermore, an enhanced DBS check and a £250 referral bonus are provided.
