Advanced Child Welfare Practitioner

As part of their commitment to workforce development, Barnsley Children and Family Social Care Service invites applications for an Advanced Practitioner to join their Practice Development Hub. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting best social work practice and driving continuous professional development and training within the service.
The role involves collaborating with colleagues in the Hub and alongside the Practice Development Manager and Principal Social Worker to develop, drive, and deliver the practice model, continuous professional development, and training offer for children's social workers and practitioners. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality supervision, support, and guidance to Newly Qualified social workers during their Assessed and Supported Year in practice
- Designing and delivering training aligned to the Barnsley Stronger Together practice model to promote learning and best practice across Children's Social Care
- Working closely with the Quality Assurance Team to embed learning from audit in training and development
- Ensuring that staff and teams have access to the resources and tools necessary for their professional development
This role requires a recognised Social Work qualification, registration with Social Work England, and significant post-qualification experience, including supervision and mentoring. Additionally, the successful candidate must hold an enhanced and up-to-date DBS certificate.
The salary for this position is £*** (approximately ***,***) per annum, depending on location and experience. The service offers a range of benefits, including a flexible approach to work and working hours, an enhanced DBS check, and a £250 referral bonus.
