We are currently looking for a skilled professional to join our team as a Field Service Engineer. This role will be based in Yorkshire or the North West of England, covering surrounding areas, Scotland, and North-East England as required.

In this position, the successful candidate will work hands-on with our life sciences and diagnostics instrumentations lines, ensuring high-quality service to our customers.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will act as the face of our company, providing technical support and resolving issues efficiently. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of our life science and diagnostics instrument portfolio, with an initial focus on reproductive health screening.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing field service tasks as advised by Customer Care, in conjunction with the Service/Team Leader.
  • Carrying out installation, maintenance, and repair of life science and diagnostics instruments.
  • Providing first-line onsite user training on life science and diagnostics systems.
  • Organizing routine maintenance and ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
  • Maintaining ancillary documentation and ensuring compliance with our Quality Management System.
  • Aligning personal working practices with departmental performance targets and demonstrating active compliance.
  • Maintaining service spares and inventory records, ensuring timely reporting and resolution of anomalies.
  • Ensuring all tools and test equipment are adequate for service requirements and that test equipment is calibrated as specified.
  • Completing Work Orders and associated documentation within a day of completion.

Requirements include:

  • Relevant education or equivalent experience in electronic engineering or biotechnology.
  • Experience in a customer service environment, preferably with life science instrument applications.
  • Good communication skills and a strong customer service ethic.
  • Ability to travel and hold a full driving license.
