We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Support Worker to join our team at an outstanding-rated school in the Edgware area. As a valued member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in providing support to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience working with SENs or a passion for developing their skills in this area. You will be responsible for collaborating with teachers to create and deliver activities, developing holistic approaches to meeting learners' needs, and assisting with individual education plans. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to work effectively with families, external agencies, and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in creating and delivering activities tailored to individual students' needs
  • Develop and implement strategies to support students with profound learning difficulties, ensuring they make good progress
  • Work with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with students, responding to their unique needs
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with SENs or a willingness to develop your skills
  • Good knowledge of SEN principles and a passion for ongoing development
  • Able to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • Commitment to working fixed days, full or part-time
  • Clear and valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Relevant training to support students with learning difficulties
