We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Handler to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing excellent customer service and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Managing claims caseload in accordance with company standards and procedures.
- Controlling claim costs through effective negotiation and liability arguments.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring cases are reviewed regularly.
- Attendance at trials and conferences with counsel.
- Adherence to authority limits and engagement with reinsurers.
- Developing relationships with colleagues and business partners.
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Responding promptly to incoming calls and correspondence.
- Acting as a technical referral point within the team.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of personal injury claims and handling experience in serious injury.
- Technical knowledge of discount rate, care claims, and other heads of claim.
- Good knowledge of medical disciplines required in investigating personal injury claims.
- Able to demonstrate understanding and application of claims negotiation, liability decision making, and cost potential.
- Knowledge of current case law.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise own workloads.
