Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Professional to join our team at Northern Healthcare. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents, supporting their families, and contributing to a wider mental health support network within your local community.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide personalized support and guidance to our residents, enabling them to maintain independence and achieve their full potential. This may involve assisting with daily living tasks, such as budgeting, domestic chores, and meal preparation, as well as accompanying them to routine appointments and encouraging participation in local community activities.

To succeed in this role, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a non-judgmental approach, and a commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery. You should also have some experience in a similar role or hold relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care (Level 2 or 3).

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Support residents in maintaining independence by assisting with day-to-day activities.
  2. Accompany residents to routine appointments and facilitate grocery shopping trips.
  3. Administer prescribed medication and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
  4. Encourage residents to participate in local community activities and events.
  5. Regularly review and update resident support plans to ensure alignment with their evolving needs and aspirations.
  6. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in Health and Social Care (Level 2 or 3).
