Hearbert Smith Freehills invites applications for an Executive Director, Strategic Growth Initiatives to join our team in London. As a key member of the Business Development team, you will play a vital role in driving business growth and development across the firm's key sectors and practices.

The Opportunity:
This is a unique opportunity to join our fast-paced and highly active CRT BD team, working closely with Senior BD Managers and BD Consultants to support partners and associates across the CRT practice. You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day pitch/proposal activity, preparing collateral, planning and driving campaigns and client targeting, leading on directory & award submissions, organising events, and capturing and maintaining core information such as credentials, CVs, and on channels like HSF.com and the intranet.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of the London CRT business plan in line with HSF's strategic objectives
* Take ownership of CRT sector/practice/product working groups, ensuring regular meetings to discuss, plan, and deliver revenue-generating BD activities & client targeting/outreach programmes
* Keep abreast of client and market issues to enable proactive identification of business opportunities
* Work closely with associates across the practice to help develop an associate-led BD programme and provide BD skills coaching
* Draft all pitch and tender responses with partners and associates
* Capture and maintain pitch precedents
* Develop and deliver client engagement initiatives around CRT practice service lines & key products
* Support and initiate cross-selling opportunities with other practice areas, in particular Corporate & Disputes
* Prepare and maintain effective marketing collateral for clients, working with design where required
* Deliver client, market, and competitor analysis as required
* Liaise with the PR/communications team on media/PR opportunities, and social media
* Support the CRT team with the development and execution of thought leadership campaigns & client-facing content
* Work closely with PSLs on know-how content for publications, blog, e-bulletin, & podcasts, and consider related BD opportunities
* Promote and drive the use of social media/LinkedIn amongst fee earners
* Work with partners and associates to draft and lead on directory and award submissions
* Events organisation, including presence at industry conferences and HSF-hosted events
* Maintain CRT intranet and website pages
* Capture, maintain, and develop credentials, case studies, CVs, accolades, and other core practice information for pitches and marketing collateral
* Maintain client target/mailing lists

Requirements:
* Approximately 5 years' experience in Business Development in a partnership or corporate environment (considering candidates with less or more providing they meet required competencies)
* A background in or experience of working in a law firm is strongly preferable
* Experience of CRT is highly desirable
* Will consider applications from qualified lawyers interested in moving into a Business Development & Marketing role
* Proficiency with systems, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Experience in Foundation, Qorus, and InterAction would be ideal but not essential
* Proficient in the use of social media (i.e., LinkedIn)
