Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Program Coordinator to join our team at Seneca. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals who share your passion for child development and mental health.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for providing students with appropriate learning experiences in a clinical setting, reviewing and clarifying nursing practice course expectations, and supervising ongoing client care provided by students.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing students with learning experiences that align with clinical agency policies and procedures.
  • Reviewing and clarifying nursing practice course expectations to ensure alignment with clinical agency policies and procedures.
  • Supervising and monitoring ongoing client care provided by students, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with members of the healthcare team, students, clients, and their families, and medical staff.
  • Utilizing established educational guidelines, policies, and procedures of the clinical agency and educational institution.
  • Preparing to intervene when the client's condition suddenly changes or the student acts in an unsafe manner.
  • Making changes to clinical assignments and organizational plans to accommodate unanticipated events.
  • Working collaboratively with faculty and other clinical supervisors to determine and implement an effective learning environment.
  • Assessing students' performance and adherence to learning outcome criteria.
  • Providing accurate assessments and judgments regarding students' ability to perform the steps of the nursing process.
  • Recording observations on student clinical performance and sharing written notes with students.
  • Seeking input from clinical agency nursing staff when there is an incident or area of concern regarding a student's performance.
  • Determining if students' clinical performance has met the course learning outcomes in relevant Practical Nursing or BScN courses.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require a completed four-year degree in Nursing or a two-year diploma in Nursing, registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and a Certificate of Completion. Additionally, you must have current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification and a minimum of two years of recent practical experience in Nursing, preferably in an acute care setting.

Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $105,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
