Key Responsibilities:
- Define IoT Product Vision and Strategy:
- Develop and articulate a compelling vision for IoT products that align with company goals and market demands. You'll own the product roadmap, identify key opportunities, and prioritize features that deliver maximum value to customers.
- Work closely with engineering, design, and business teams to ensure seamless collaboration throughout the product development process. You'll lead cross-functional meetings, gather input from stakeholders, and ensure that all teams are aligned with the product vision.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of IoT products, from concept and design to development, testing, and launch. You'll work closely with engineering teams to ensure products are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
- Perform market research to identify customer needs, pain points, and emerging trends in IoT. You'll gather user feedback, analyze data, and use insights to shape product features and future iterations that better meet customer expectations.
- Lead product launches, including creating go-to-market strategies, collaborating with marketing and sales teams, and preparing product messaging. You'll ensure that your IoT products are positioned effectively in the market and resonate with target users.
- Work with engineering teams to ensure that IoT products are secure, scalable, and designed with best practices in mind. You'll ensure that security is baked into the product from the beginning, addressing any potential vulnerabilities and compliance issues.
- Continuously monitor the performance of IoT products post-launch, using data and analytics to identify areas for improvement. You'll work on optimizing product features and resolving any issues to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and product success.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- IoT Product Management Expertise: Proven experience in product management, with a deep understanding of IoT technologies, platforms, and ecosystems. You're skilled at defining and executing product strategies for connected devices and systems.
- Market and Customer Insight: Strong market research and customer analysis skills. You know how to identify trends, understand user needs, and translate them into actionable product requirements.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams. You can manage competing priorities and drive alignment across the organization.
- Technical Knowledge of IoT Systems: Solid understanding of IoT architectures, including edge computing, cloud integration, communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP), and security best practices. You're comfortable working with technical teams to address IoT challenges.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use data and analytics to inform product decisions. You know how to track key performance metrics (KPIs) and use insights to optimize product features and strategies.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree: In Product Management, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience in product management with a focus on IoT solutions is highly valued.
- Certifications: In IoT, product management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner), or related fields are a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience: In product management, with a proven track record of managing IoT products or connected devices from concept to launch.
- Hands-on experience: In defining product roadmaps, developing product requirements, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with IoT platforms: (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT) and knowledge of connected ecosystems is highly desirable.
