Emergency General Surgery Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Surgeon to join our Emergency General Surgery department at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will possess a strong sub specialty interest in either Colorectal, Paediatrics or complex interventional endoscopy.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative ambulatory and alternative provision models to support patient care.
- Provide an Emergency General Surgery service of the highest standards for Cornwall.
- Develop and maintain a specialty interest within the realms of children's general surgery, colorectal or upper GI surgery, hepatobiliary or complex endoscopic practice.
- Contribute to the day-to-day management of the EGS department, including the development of a research portfolio.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and training to junior staff and medical students in EGS, including the development of weekly evidence-based governance and service development.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Requirements
- Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice.
- On GMC Specialist Register (desirable).
- Proven experience in teaching, clinical audit, and clinical governance.
