The role of a Primary SEN Teacher at Prospero Teaching is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to make a positive impact on the lives of students with sensory needs and special educational needs.

As a member of our team, you will be working in a supportive and dynamic primary school located in Islington, supporting students in Years 4-6 with various needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), and those requiring support with sensory needs and challenging behaviour.

The curriculum is tailored to meet the specific educational, social, and emotional needs of the students, who are currently working at a Year 1-3 level. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Professional looking to work in a diverse and inclusive setting.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with a dedicated and supportive team, including two TAs and HLTAs already in place to assist you.
  • Deliver a multi-sensory curriculum to engage students with a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Provide targeted support for students with sensory needs, including those on a sensory diet and those with experience in visual aids, phonics, and Makaton.
  • Support students with ASD, SpLD, challenging behaviours, and those with complex needs.
  • Incorporate Zones of Regulation techniques to help students manage their emotions.
  • Liaise with professionals to conduct Annual Reviews and plan ongoing support.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

For this role, we are seeking a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) holder with previous experience working with students with sensory needs. The ideal candidate will also have experience delivering a multi-sensory curriculum, as well as proven experience working with students with ASD, SpLD, and challenging behaviour.
