Wastewater Network Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Network Technician to join our team at Yorkshire Water. As a key member of our Customer Field Services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our sewer network, including proactive desilting, inspection, cleaning, and defect resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Recycler Assistant to support operational activities
- Collaborate with other Yorkshire Water teams and contracted partners to resolve and manage operational issues on the sewer network
- Conduct sewer inspections, cleaning, and defect resolution as part of our proactive desilting program
- Ensure a first-time fix solution for customers and the environment while maintaining quality follow-on work
- Provide technical support and first-line response to customer contacts to ensure a fix-first-time resolution
Requirements:
- Full valid EU driving licence (with no more than six points) and a Heavy Goods Vehicle category C licence plus DCPC
- Experience of driving vehicles with a liquid load
- Recycler vehicle operation experience
- Strong Health & Safety background
- Ability to find faults and diagnose the root cause of an issue
- Competent in the use of IT systems
- Previous experience in a customer service role with face-to-face communication with customers
- Knowledge and experience on working with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to be proactive and take ownership of issues, think through problems, and work with others to solve them
- Good interpersonal skills to liaise with operations, customers, and stakeholders
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships
- Basic understanding of the sewer network
- Understanding of sewerage system and network performance issues
