Job Overview

Tarmac, a leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business, is seeking a highly skilled Permitting and Compliance Manager to join their team. As a key member of the Land & Natural Resources team, you will be responsible for securing new environmental permits and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile, submit, and manage permit applications to relevant regulators, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Identify changes to regulations and guidance, advising the business on necessary actions to maintain compliance.
  • Provide expert advice on permit conditions and associated environmental legislation, including legal advice and regulator communication.
  • Ensure compliance with CRH, Tarmac, and industry reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background with experience in writing and managing permit applications and liaising with regulators.
  • Specialist knowledge in waste or water resources, with expertise in environmental legislation, guidance, and practices.
  • Extensive experience in environmental legislation compliance, including knowledge of regulatory compliance and legal processes.
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems and experience working with regulatory authorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
