Join Our Team as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to become part of a vibrant Legal Consultancy firm. This position offers hybrid working arrangements, making it ideal for a proactive individual ready to contribute effectively.

Key Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with a solid understanding of CQS, Lexcel, and SRA Regulations. Previous experience in compliance within the legal industry is highly advantageous.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert advice to clients on the acquisition and maintenance of Legal Aid Contracts, ensuring adherence to quality standards (SQM/Lexcel/CQS/WIQS), preparing for audits, and conducting post-audit evaluations.
  • Evaluating audit findings and pinpointing areas for enhancement.
  • Examining Client Care Letters and Terms & Conditions to ensure compliance with SRA, SQM/Lexcel/CQS, Legal Aid Agency, and relevant legislation such as UK GDPR.
  • Identifying and executing necessary updates related to firm and compliance regulations.
  • Reviewing the websites of SRA-regulated law firms to verify compliance with SRA Transparency Rules and other legal requirements, including Companies House obligations and UK GDPR.
  • Preparing and submitting applications to the SRA.
  • Engaging with the SRA before and after application submissions to facilitate timely processing.
  • Assisting in the development of Junior Compliance Officers within the team.
